Generic listing of the Zeiss Touit 12mm f/2.8 — same lens as ID 3515 without mount specified.
The Zeiss Touit 12mm f/2.8 is another listing of Zeiss's autofocus ultra-wide prime from the discontinued Touit series, also described under ID 3515. Available in both Fujifilm X and Sony E mounts, it provides an 18mm equivalent perspective with Zeiss's celebrated optical quality. The Touit series represented Zeiss's first and only autofocus lens line for APS-C mirrorless.
Optical performance is excellent — Zeiss quality in a compact APS-C package. Sharpness is very good from f/2.8 and outstanding by f/5.6. The T* multi-coating provides exceptional contrast and flare resistance. Distortion is well-controlled for a 12mm ultra-wide. The neutral, precise Zeiss colour rendering is the hallmark of this lens.
Available in Fujifilm X and Sony E mounts with electronic autofocus. Filter thread is 67mm. Weight is approximately 270 grams. Build quality is excellent with a metal barrel. The Touit line was discontinued after limited production, making these lenses increasingly uncommon. No weather sealing. AF speed is adequate but not the fastest.
Uncommon on the used market due to limited production. Prices can be attractive when found. Check AF operation. An excellent ultra-wide for APS-C mirrorless shooters who value Zeiss optical precision. The discontinuation makes it a semi-collectible item that still delivers outstanding real-world performance.
