After consideration, we've removed support for US and European retailers from UsedLens. The site now covers UK retailers only.
Why
A few things made international coverage increasingly difficult to maintain:
- eBay API changes — eBay's international API access became more restricted, making reliable data retrieval harder
- Affiliate network shifts — affiliate relationships for international retailers changed, affecting our ability to earn commission on referred sales
- Retailer website changes — scraping and maintaining data feeds for overseas retailers requires ongoing maintenance work, and the international retailers changed their sites more frequently than UK ones
- Focus — doing the UK market well is more valuable than doing a dozen markets adequately
The UK used camera market is large enough to warrant a dedicated, well-maintained tool. That's what UsedLens will remain.
