Canon's original budget EF telephoto — one of the first EF lenses from 1987.
The Canon EF 80-200mm f/4.5-5.6 is one of Canon's original EF-mount lenses from 1987 — the cheapest telephoto in the initial EOS lineup. Variable f/4.5-5.6. The Mark I predated the Mark II by a few years.
Optically very basic — one of Canon's most basic telephoto zooms ever made. Variable f/4.5-5.6 is slow. Early EF motor — audible. No image stabilisation. Adequate for the most casual telephoto needs of its era.
Canon EF mount with 52mm filter thread. Lightweight. Full-frame coverage. Plastic construction. One of the original 1987 EF lenses. Minimum focus distance approximately 150cm.
Essentially free used. Among the very first EF-mount lenses. Any modern telephoto zoom vastly outperforms it. Only of interest as 1987 EOS launch history. The Mark II (ID 1600) made minor updates.
