Leica's updated Summicron 35mm — Mark II with revised optics and improved close focus for M-mount.

The Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH. II is the second version of Leica's 35mm f/2 M-mount prime. Summicron = f/2 class. ASPH. = aspherical element. More compact and lower cost than the Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4. Leica M mount.

f/2 maximum aperture. 35mm focal length (full-frame). ASPH. aspherical element. 6-bit coding. Manual focus with rangefinder coupling. At approximately 255g. 39mm filter thread. Leica M mount.

The Summicron-M 35mm ASPH. II is more compact and light than the f/1.4 Summilux equivalent — at 39mm filter thread and approximately 255g it is among the smallest 35mm M-mount primes. Compact dimensions suit discreet street and travel use on an M body. The f/2 maximum aperture trades one stop of light vs the Summilux for significantly smaller size.

On the used market the Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH. II is a compact M-mount street prime. Condition checks: 39mm front element for marks (small — inspect carefully), focus ring damping, rangefinder coupling accuracy, 6-bit contacts. Leica M mount — manual focus. Classic compact M configuration.
