Nikon's first APS-C Z-mount mirrorless with a compact DSLR-style body.
The Nikon Z50 launched in 2019 as Nikon's first APS-C mirrorless camera for the Z system. With a 20.9MP DX sensor, 209-point hybrid AF, and a compact body with a built-in EVF, it brought Z-mount mirrorless to a more affordable price point while maintaining excellent image quality.
Key features include the 20.9MP sensor, 209-point hybrid AF with eye detection, 11fps burst, 4K 30fps video, tilting touchscreen, and a compact body with weather sealing. The DSLR-style body provides comfortable handling with a deep grip.
The Z50 is the entry to Nikon's Z mirrorless system. Native DX Z-mount lenses are limited to the 16-50mm and 50-250mm VR zooms plus a few primes. F-mount DX lenses adapted via FTZ dramatically expand the options. The Zfc offers the same specs in a retro body.
Good value used. Check the tilting screen, AF tracking, and the FTZ adapter compatibility if you plan to use F-mount lenses. The Z50 is an excellent mirrorless gateway for Nikon users.
