OM System's updated mid-range MFT body with improved AF and computational features.
The OM System OM-5 Mark II is an update to the OM-5, expected around 2025 with improved autofocus and updated computational photography features. It maintains the compact weather-sealed design philosophy of the OM-5 line.
Expected improvements include enhanced AF algorithms, updated high-res shot mode, and firmware-level computational photography additions. The core 20MP sensor and 5-axis IBIS platform carry over from the OM-5.
The OM-5 II sits below the OM-1 Mark II in OM System's lineup. The OM-1 II offers the stacked sensor with dramatically better AF and burst. The OM-5 II targets photographers who prioritise compact size and weather sealing.
New with limited used availability. The OM-5 original at lower used prices may offer better value. Check the AF improvements with moving subjects to determine if the Mark II justifies the premium over the original.
