Compact Micro Four Thirds vlogging camera with 20.3MP sensor, 5-axis stabilisation, and excellent video features.
The Panasonic Lumix G100D was released in late 2023 as a minor refresh of the G100, retaining the same 20.3MP MFT sensor, AF system, burst rate, and video specifications but upgrading the electronic viewfinder from TFT to OLED and the charging port from Micro-USB to USB-C. The G100D targets content creators and travel vloggers with a lightweight MFT body, built-in stereo microphone, and V-Log L for colour grading. No in-body image stabilisation is provided in either the G100 or G100D.
The 20.3MP MFT Live MOS sensor pairs with the Venus Engine processor. Autofocus uses 49-point contrast-detect with subject and face detection. Burst shooting runs at 10fps electronic shutter and 6fps mechanical shutter. 4K video records at up to 30fps; 1080p at up to 120fps for slow motion. No in-body image stabilisation — stabilisation relies on lens OIS or electronic IS. Battery life approximately 250-270 shots using the DMW-BLG10, body weight approximately 346g with battery and card, single SD/SDHC/SDXC slot.
The OLED EVF and USB-C are the G100D's practical improvements over the G100: the OLED provides better contrast and colour rendering for outdoor exposure confirmation, and USB-C enables charging from standard modern power banks and cables without carrying a dedicated Micro-USB cable. The OZO spatial audio microphone provides directional audio recording for vlogging. No IBIS means handheld video stabilisation requires a gimbal or compatible lens OIS.
On the used market the G100D is a recent product with limited used availability. Condition checks: OLED EVF display quality, USB-C port contacts, and DMW-BLG10 battery health — shared with GX7, GX80, GX85, GX9, G9, and Lumix S5 series. The G100D shares all other specs with the G100; buyers who do not need OLED EVF or USB-C can save with the G100 original. Compatible with all Micro Four Thirds lenses from Panasonic, Olympus, and OM System.
