The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K brings the 12K RGBW full-frame sensor from the URSA Cine line into the compact boxy PYXIS body, announced in 2025 as the resolution flagship of the range.
It records 12K Blackmagic RAW open-gate to CFexpress or external USB storage, with interchangeable PL, L or EF mounts, dual native ISO, and the same side-screen and rigging-friendly flat-sided design as the PYXIS 6K.
Its appeal is oversampling and reframing headroom: 12K acquisition delivers very clean 4K and 8K masters and lets VFX and multicam productions crop without losing delivery resolution.
As a recent model, used examples are scarce and prices sit close to new - verify the fitted mount (PL, L and EF are swappable), check CFexpress media inclusion, and confirm the sensor coverage settings a seller used.
