The 2021 Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro is a live-production camera built around a 4K Four Thirds sensor and a large 7-inch sunlight-viewable viewfinder screen.
It adds the broadcast connections the cheaper Plus model lacks: 12G-SDI, 10G Ethernet IP link for one-cable studio operation, talkback, and tally, plus a Micro Four Thirds lens mount and Blackmagic RAW recording to USB disks.
Its significance is collapsing studio-chain cost: with an ATEM switcher it delivers camera control, tally and streaming over a single cable at a fraction of traditional broadcast camera prices.
Used buyers should separate it from the Studio Camera 4K Plus (HDMI-only) and the later G2 revisions - the Pro's SDI and Ethernet ports are the identifiers. Check screen brightness and the rear connector block for rack wear.
