Canon's Japanese-market entry DSLR — same as the EOS 600D/Rebel T3i with 18MP and vari-angle screen.
The Canon EOS Kiss X5 is the Japanese market name for the Canon EOS 600D (Rebel T3i internationally). It features an 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor with a vari-angle LCD screen — the first Canon Rebel with this feature.
The 18MP sensor delivers good image quality with clean results to ISO 1600. 9-point all cross-type AF system. 3.7fps burst. Full HD 1080p video at multiple frame rates. The vari-angle screen enabled creative angle shooting and selfie capability.
Compact body at 570g. 3-inch vari-angle LCD — first for the Rebel line. SD card slot. Built-in flash. EF and EF-S lens compatibility. No WiFi built in. Optical viewfinder.
Very cheap used. Functionally identical to the EOS 600D. The vari-angle LCD was a landmark addition. The 650D/Kiss X6i added touchscreen. A solid used DSLR for beginners. Check shutter count — rated 100,000 actuations.
