The Canon EOS Rebel T6 (1300D) is Canon's entry-level APS-C DSLR from 2016 with an 18MP sensor, 9-point AF, and WiFi/NFC connectivity. Designed as an affordable first DSLR for beginners upgrading from smartphones. The WiFi was the main update over the T5, enabling easy smartphone sharing and remote shooting.
Image quality is decent with 18MP — standard Canon APS-C performance. The 9-point AF is basic but functional. 3fps burst. Full HD video. WiFi and NFC for smartphone connectivity — the key feature update. The DIGIC 4+ processor is older generation. The optical viewfinder provides the DSLR shooting experience at minimum cost.
Canon EF/EF-S mount. Weight is approximately 485 grams. Build quality is basic consumer. No touchscreen. The WiFi connectivity enables the Canon Camera Connect app for remote shooting and image transfer. A basic DSLR providing access to Canon's EF lens ecosystem at the lowest price.
Very cheap used. Check shutter count. A basic entry DSLR. The WiFi is the main feature. Outdated by modern mirrorless alternatives. Only worth considering for extremely budget-conscious entry to the Canon EF ecosystem. The T7/2000D or mirrorless M50 are better for similar investment.
