Canon's budget DSLR — the Rebel T6 (1300D) with WiFi and NFC at entry pricing.
The Canon EOS Rebel T6, sold as the EOS 1300D in international markets and the EOS Kiss X80 in Japan, is an entry-level APS-C DSLR from Canon released in 2016. It was the first Rebel/1300D to include built-in WiFi and NFC for smartphone connectivity.
The T6 uses an 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, provides an optical viewfinder, a fixed 3-inch LCD, 3fps burst rate, 1080p Full HD video, built-in WiFi and NFC for the Canon Camera Connect app, and a built-in popup flash. Manual exposure modes are accessible for beginners learning camera controls.
The built-in WiFi and NFC were the primary T6 upgrades over the predecessor T5, enabling direct image transfer and remote shooting from a smartphone. The fixed (non-articulating) LCD limits its versatility for video and low-angle shooting. Entry-level optical performance is adequate for casual photography and learning.
Test built-in WiFi and NFC connectivity with the Canon Camera Connect app. Check popup flash operation. Verify optical viewfinder clarity. Inspect the fixed LCD for dead pixels or damage. Check shutter count. Examine the EF mount for wear from lens swaps.
