The Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2x Ultra-Macro APO is a manual-focus macro prime from Venus Optics for the Fujifilm X-mount APS-C mirrorless system. Its defining feature is a 2:1 maximum magnification ratio — twice life-size reproduction — that sets it apart from standard 1:1 macro lenses.

The lens delivers 65mm (97.5mm equivalent on APS-C) at f/2.8 maximum aperture with 2:1 macro reproduction, fully manual focus and aperture operation, an APO optical formula for chromatic aberration control, and all-metal construction. The Fujifilm X electronic mount provides EXIF communication.

The 2:1 maximum magnification enables documentation of subjects at twice life-size — opening up detailed photography of microstructures, insects, and minerals that standard 1:1 macro lenses cannot capture. The 65mm focal length on APS-C provides sufficient working distance at 2:1 to avoid disturbing living subjects or blocking light. The APO formula ensures colour accuracy at extreme close range.
