Leica's built-in meter M rangefinder — the M6 that became the gold standard for film street photography.
The Leica M6 0.72x (Black) was produced approximately 1984-2002 as the standard-viewfinder M6 film rangefinder with built-in TTL light meter. 0.72× viewfinder magnification. Framelines for 28/90, 35/135, 50/75mm. Shutter to 1/1000s. At approximately 560g. Leica M mount.
0.72× viewfinder magnification. Framelines: 28/90, 35/135, 50/75mm (6 focal lengths). TTL metering (LED +/0/- display). Shutter 1-1/1000s + B. No auto-exposure. At approximately 560g. Leica M mount. 35mm film.
The M6 0.72× is the standard-viewfinder M6 variant: Leica offered the M6 in three viewfinder magnifications (0.58×, 0.72×, 0.85×) with the 0.72× providing the broadest frameline coverage and the most common choice. TTL metering adds a light meter to the M4-series' mechanical-only design, without modifying the core rangefinder-manual-exposure philosophy.
On the used market the Leica M6 0.72× (Black) is available as a classic TTL-metered film M-camera. Condition checks: TTL meter function (LED display), rangefinder alignment, shutter speeds, film transport, viewfinder clarity. Leica M mount.
