The Pentax SMC DA 50-135mm f/2.8 ED IF SDM is Pentax's premium constant f/2.8 telephoto zoom for APS-C, covering 75-202.5mm equivalent. The DA* designation indicates Pentax's highest optical tier with SDM in-lens motor and weather resistance.

Optically very good — DA* quality delivers consistent sharpness throughout the constant f/2.8 zoom range. ED glass controls chromatic aberration effectively. SDM motor provides faster quieter AF than body-driven alternatives. Quick-shift Focus for instant manual override.

Pentax K mount with 67mm filter thread at approximately 685g. Weather-resistant construction protects against moisture and dust — a genuine advantage for outdoor photography. SDM motor enables AF on all K-mount bodies including those without screw-drive motors.
